CLEVELAND – University Hospitals has announced the appointment of Robert G. David as President of University Hospitals Conneaut Medical Center and University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center. Since June 2008, Mr. David has served as interim president for both hospitals.
As President of both medical centers, Mr. David will be responsible for the strategic direction and overall performance of University Hospitals’ two Critical Access Hospitals located in Ashtabula County. In addition, Mr. David will oversee the community medical centers’ adult medical/surgical services, around-the-clock emergency care and rehabilitation services.

Mr. David played a significant role in obtaining the Critical Access Hospital designation for both hospitals from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). He was selected by the Ohio Hospital Association on two occasions as the finance delegate from Ohio at the National Critical Access Hospital meeting sponsored by CMS.
Mr. David joined University Hospitals in 1996 as a Senior Financial Analyst and was promoted to Director of Finance at UH Geneva Medical Center in 1997. He assumed the same role at UH Conneaut Medical Center in 1999.
He is a Member of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Northeast Ohio Chapter and serves as a Critical Access Hospital Delegate in Ohio for Quarterly CMS conference calls.
Prior to joining University Hospitals, Mr. David worked at KPMG and Lakewood Hospital in audit and health care finance. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from West Virginia University and is a certified public accountant. He resides in Ashtabula.
