High Blood Pressure after stroke

Intro: The goal of this research study is to find out if the drug nicardipine (Cardene®) can be used for the treatment of high blood pressure that occurs after people have suffered a stroke due to sudden bleeding in their brain.
Condition:
Description: The goal of this research study is to find out if the drug nicardipine (Cardene®) can be used for the treatment of high blood pressure that occurs after people have suffered a stroke due to sudden bleeding in their brain. The study medication is given intravenously (into a vein) over a period of 24 hours.
Criteria: Participants must be 18 years and older, have high blood pressure and must have suffered a stroke due to bleeding in the brain within 6 hours before the start of treatment.
