The Breast Center emphasizes a multidisciplinary team approach. Specialists in radiology, surgery, reconstructive surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, nursing, rehabilitation therapy, social work, nutrition therapy, pathology, and genetics work together to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art options to patients. The interdisciplinary team presents each new patient’s case in weekly breast conferences where the team reviews the patient’s clinical presentation, mammography and pathology results. The team reaches a consensus as to the best possible treatment plan. The Breast Center team provides each patient with information, education, and the needed support to make an individualized treatment decision.
