“Let’s Band Together”

June 13, 2008 various leaders, health care professionals, clinicians and others met in Cleveland, Ohio to discuss ongoing efforts in the fight against Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer. The daytime Symposium and the evening reception to follow was presented by UH – Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital’s Ireland Cancer Center and Rise Above It (RAI).

Zach Babal is a senior at MidPark High School

Zach Babal is a senior at MidPark High School and is treated at the University Hospitals’ Ireland Cancer Center for T-cell leukemia. 

On October 24, Melissa Najda RN, Barb Humrick PNP, and Dr. Erin Cockrell of attended Zach’s final high school football game to cheer him on.  Zach is Senior Captain of 2008 MidPark Varsity Football Team and returning lettermen in football, wrestling and track and field.  During the past year, Zach has been determined not to let his illness keep him on the sidelines.  He used all of his strength and determination to return to the field and we are happy to report his leukemia is currently in remission.
