Overview
In 2003, after more than a century of commitment to the Jewish and general communities, Mt. Sinai Community partners secured its legacy through the establishment of the Mt. Sinai Center for Jewish Genetic diseases, a program of the Center for Human Genetics at University Hospitals Case Medical Center.

The Center is a resource for scientific and lay communities aimed at increasing awareness about Jewish genetic diseases.

The aims of the Center are threefold:

  • Increase knowledge about diseases commonly found in the Jewish population
  • Establish laboratory testing for these conditions
  • Promote research into the field of Jewish genetic diseases

New discoveries are being made in the field of genetics, including Jewish genetic diseases. With these rapid changes, it is difficult not only for Cleveland’s Jewish population to keep abreast of what’s new in this area, but also the community’s physicians and clergy. University Hospitals’ Mt. Sinai Center for Jewish Genetic Diseases will do the work for you.
