Outpatient Rehabilitation & Aquatic Center

The University Hospitals Outpatient Rehabilitation & Aquatic Center offers convenient, state-of-the-art physical, occupational, aquatic and speech therapy. Whether managing the symptoms of a long-term illness or improving general health and mobility, therapy can help patients to reach their goals and maintain their independence. Therapy can also prove beneficial to caregivers—by providing easier methods for performing their caregiving responsibilities.

Our therapists help patients achieve their goals by beginning slowly, increasing those goals as patients progress and gain confidence. We don't like to brag, but our patients do. We encourage you to read some testimonials of our patients.br>

Rehabilitation Services:
  • Aquatic Therapy: An exercise program performed in the water. Aquatic therapy uses the physical properties and natural resistance of water to assist in patient healing and exercise performance. Because it is virtually gravity-free, aquatic exercise is the preferred therapy for many medical conditions. The therapy pool also allows barrier-free entry by raising and lowering the floor to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Physical Therapy: Improving the body by building strength, improving mobility and developing greater confidence through special exercises and physical training.
  • Occupational Therapy: Assisting patients to become as independent as possible in daily living skills such as dressing and bathing through special exercises and activities.
  • Speech Therapy: Helping patients develop skills that enable them to think and express themselves more clearly. Speech Therapy also helps patients with swallowing disorders and can teach specialized exercises and training to swallow safely.
