University Hospitals' 947-bed medical complex offers 24-hour emergency care with separate facilities for children and adults. Its main campus includes University MacDonald Women's Hospital, Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital, University Psychiatric Center (Hanna Pavilion), University Ireland Cancer Center, Lakeside Pavilion, Alfred and Norma Lerner Tower and Samuel Mather Pavilion. The Lerner Tower was opened in February 1994 as a medical/surgical bed facility with 210 private rooms. The Mather Pavilion, also opened in February 1994, comprises mainly operating rooms and suites and ancillary services. Both facilities represent state-of-the-art technology at its finest.
University Hospitals' affiliation with Case Western Reserve University's schools of medicine, nursing and dentistry forms Ohio's largest biomedical research center. The teaching hospital atmosphere fosters a high level of care by assuring that all diagnostic procedures and medical/surgical treatment represent the most advanced medical knowledge and technology available.

Housed in a completely renovated building and staffed by the area's foremost experts in child care, the University Hospitals of Cleveland Day Care Center can accommodate 90 children from infancy to preschool age.
Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center
The Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Wade Park Division is a modern 550-bed, acute care hospital that serves as a regional referral center. Located 17 miles away in Brecksville, Ohio is the Veterans Affairs Medical Center chronic care and psychiatric division with 700 beds.
Medical care, teaching and research are provided and supported by all the academic clinical departments at Case Western Reserve University which have integrated training programs between the Cleveland VAMC and University Hospitals of Cleveland. The Cleveland VAMC also houses the Mid-Atlantic regional Medical Education Center, one of several VA regional centers that serve the educational needs of healthcare providers in a seven-state region. It is located a half-mile from University Hospitals.
MetroHealth Medical Center
This 742-bed county hospital is another flagship institution affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
It encompasses 43 acres (four city blocks) and has 18 buildings.
It is also a center for tertiary medical care and includes a burn unit, a major level one trauma center and Life Flight Air Transport Service. It is located ten miles from University Hospitals.
