Hair Coloring During Pregnancy: No-No or No Big Deal?
I’m 7 months pregnant and growing bigger everywhere almost every day. I could really use a little confidence boost! Can I get my hair colored or is that a no-no?

Very few studies have really examined the many different kinds of hair treatments and their effects on a fetus. But what we do know indicates that most are probably safe. And because very little dye is absorbed through the skin, dying your hair is most likely safe during pregnancy, despite what doctors of years past may have advised.
If you're concerned, talk to your doctor about any hair treatment you may be planning. You may consider using a non-permanent vegetable dye (such as henna) to give you a little makeover without the added worry. Also, having your hair highlighted (rather than dyed) uses far fewer chemicals that generally do not have direct contact with the scalp.
